In FMEA in San Jose, nearly one in three members volunteered to help defend their school board from two extremist candidates. With the second-most door knocks per member in the state, FMEA successfully defeated the extremist challengers and reelected a longtime incumbent. "Members from every single school in our district did work this election, whether it was canvassing or making signs, and it shows the power of us coming together," says Imelda Murillo, FMEA site rep.
