If you think about your education career as a virtual journey — a board game, if you will — fi lled with both potential and peril, you'll need all the support and resources you can get. And you get it with your CTA membership. No matter where you are along the path, through CTA you'll fi nd tips, strategies, resources and collaborative colleagues to help you win at every level. CTA helps you make the right choices throughout your year... and your career. CTA starts with you Curriculum, discipline, parent relationships, district, state and national policies, ongoing professional development, evaluations, and testing are all important factors. And then there's taking care of yourself and your family, physically, emotionally and fi nancially. Educators like you come into (and stay in) the profession for a variety of reasons. Maybe you like working with children, or you want to make a di erence in students' lives. Perhaps you want to work in a job that is always changing and in which you continue to learn. elping ou succeed Navigating Your Future Go! School Psychologist KRISTIN MAKENA, San Diego Education Association It is essential to the integrity of our profession to support our members at every level. My chapter is a huge advocate for school psychologists locally, helping us to be part of the decision making process. We've all faced some diffi cult situations, and CTA's support gives some comfort and peace of mind that we have someone in our corner. Recent years have been very challenging with budget cuts, the transition to the Common Core State Standards, and the general stress of our society refl ected in our schools.
