Someone from within your area serves on State Council or the CTA Board of Directors or may be a statewide offi cer. Through collaboration with these local representatives, you have a voice in CTA's direction. YOUR VOICE Know that you're not in this by yourself — you're never alone. Your local CTA chapter's elected o cers, and especially your building site representative, a colleague prepared to assist you with making sure your contractual rights are defended and who can point you toward many valuable resources provided by your membership, are part of your local team. But you're also a part of a much larger family, with some 325,000 CTA members statewide, many of whom are in positions of leadership.
