American Education Week EVENT
Distressed that 25 percent of the country's World War I draftees were illiterate, representatives of the NEA and the American Legion met in 1919 to brainstorm ways to generate public support for education. Together they came up with and launched American Education Week in 1921. This year marks the 90th annual celebration. The weeklong celebration fea- tures a special observance each day of the week.

California School Psychology Week EVENT
Sponsored by the California Association of School Psychologists, this week recognizes the contributions of school psychologists, whose role it is to ensure that students in California have the support they need in school and in the home.
