ELECTION 2016 CTA Board members and officers celebrate the passage of Prop. 55 on election night. Alhambra Teachers Association members get out the vote. Support for Our Students California voters invest strongly in public education C alifornia voters once again showed over- whelming support for investing in public education and a better future for our stu- dents in the Nov. 8 election. CTA-supported Propositions 55, 58 and 52 all passed by large margins. Prop. 55 protects schools and 9 million students from billions in funding cuts; Prop. 58 gives students more opportunities to learn languages; Prop. 52 maintains billions in federal fund- ing for health care for low-income children so they come to school ready to learn.
