30 kinders to 1 teacher in an extended day
class. Fortunate to have parent volunteers
in order to have some small group
instruction. The increased class size has
decreased instructional time and increased
classroom management time. Most days
I feel like Im playing the arcade game
Whac-a-Mole just trying to keep everyone
on task. Class size makes a difference
in student learning. Want to give me the
resources to make me a better teacher?
Give me fewer students!!!
U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement raids are damaging to children
and families and are counter to CTAs
mission to educate all students.

It sure is refreshing to hear that someone
in politics thinks well of teachers. Its
been years. They have been using us for
scapegoats for far too long.

We teachers basically shut down all
learning to administer standardized testing
for one to two weeks each year. With
furloughs and shortened school years there
simply isnt enough time!
