O N O C T . 18 , more than 800 representatives on CTA State
Council of Education joined tens of thousands in downtown Los
Angeles and millions nationwide to rise together against the
authoritarian Trump presidency and shout out loud that there are
#NoKings in America.
It was one of thousands of protests that took place across
the country, as people increasingly oppose the administration's
policies on immigration, education, health care and
environmental protections. An estimated 7 million attendees
nationally exceeded the 5 million who took part in the first
#NoKings Day in June.
CTA State Council delegates and leadership brought the power
and energy of educator solidarity as they rallied in LA's Grand Park
outside City Hall, led on a march there by Grammy Award-winning
band Ozomatli.
