Calexico pajama party for literacy ABOUT 150 CHILDREN in pajamas assembled for the 13th annual Camarena Memorial Library Pajama Party in January. The event in Calexico was sponsored by community project grants from CTA and Associated Calexico Teachers to promote literacy. The grants will also help pay for similar free events at the library throughout the year with crafts, games, snacks, raffles, and every child taking home a free book. Another event is planned in March to celebrate Read Across America. "It's an opportunity to give back to our community and show that we're supporting literacy," says CTA member Chad Cooper.
