You can represent CTA at NEA's convention O N T H E F A C I N G P A G E is the official Declaration of Candi- dacy form for state delegates to the 2016 NEA convention in Washington, D.C. Declaration of Candidacy forms for state delegates are also available on the CTA website (www.cta.org/racandidacy). It is the responsibility of each mem- ber wishing to run for state del- egate to fill out a Declaration of Candidacy form and file it by the deadline. You must use the Dec- laration of Candidacy form that is printed in this issue (photocopies are acceptable) or downloaded from the CTA website. Each candidate filing a declara- tion form will receive an acknowl- edgment of receipt. In order to attend the Repre- sentative Assembly, you must pay for your meals, hotel room and transportation for July 1–8. The first caucus meeting is set for July 2, and the annual meeting of the Representative Assembly runs July 4–7. CTA will reimburse state delegates up to $2,250 with appropriate receipts. If a delegate stays within the CTA meal allowance, shares a room with another delegate and purchases a super-saver airline ticket (if applicable), the CTA reimburse- ment should cover delegate expenses. In keeping with CTA's com- mitment to minority involve- ment, members who are ethnic minorities are urged to become candidates.
